Get Involved

Volunteer

  • Along with some campus initiatives, such as the Gumbo Garden, there are several non-profits and environmental organizations in the area that need your help! By volunteering, you can learn about environmental issues and solutions, connect with different sustainability professionals, and give back to your community. Volunteering is also a great way to get to know your city better! Contact the Office of Sustainability to learn more!

Become an Intern for the Office of Sustainability

  • Are you interested in learning more about campus sustainability? Intern with the Office of Sustainability! You will learn about the complex issues we face here in New Orleans and Xavier University, the ways we develop solutions to environmental problems, and a host of new, marketable skills. Please fill out our interest form

Join or Create a Student Group

  • Student groups form the backbone of so many great environmental groups and movements at many universities. Here at Xavier, you can join a service or environmental group such as XULA Geaux Green, the Horticulture Club, work with the Gumbo Garden or even join SGA's Innovation team. If there isn't a group that appeals to you, start one! Learn more about Xavier student clubs here.

Submit a Project Proposal

  • If there is a specific project, endeavor, or event you would like to see happen, fill out this form and the Office of Sustainability will get back to you with how we can best help. We are more than happy to work with you and support your vision however we can!
